As per the regulations of Chartered Accountants Australia, only registered Chartered Accountants can carryout Registered Company Audits (‘RCAs’). Fortunately, at Synergy Accountants and Estate Planners, we have Shane Brewer, who is authorised to conduct Registered Company audits and more.
Some of the auditing services which Synergy and Accountants and Estate Planners can assist you with include:

Financial Statement Audits
The purpose of a financial statement audit is to add credibility to the reported financial statements and performance of a business. These give peace-of-mind to investors and directors.
Self-Managed Super Funds
Under the current Australian guidelines, self -managed super funds must be audited annually and conducted by an auditor who is registered with ASIC – of which Synergy Accountants and Estate Planners are. Audits are still required even when no contributions have been made to the fund and no benefits have been paid out in a financial year.
Company Audits
Companies operating in Australia are required to prepare and lodge annual financial reports with ASIC. These reports are also required to be audited annually.
Not for Profit (NFP) Club, Committee or P&C’s.
If your association falls under Level 2 or 3 of the Collections Act 1966 or Gaming Machine Act 1991, then an auditor or certified account or person approved by the Office of Fair Trading must verify your financial statements.
Trust Account Audits
The purpose of a Trust Account audit is to ensure that money held in Trust has been kept appropriately. Audits are required regularly and failure to conduct an audit can result in hefty fines and possible imprisonment.
What sort of information do you need to provide for your audit?
Records can be presented in hard copy or electronically. To give you an idea of the types of documents required for a financial audit, here is a short list of the records which we may require:
- Relevant invoices;
- Relevant receipts;
- Relevant cheques;
- Cash records;
